On top of Brexit, which seems like a lifetime ago (though it's still in transition), COVID-19 struck the UK like any other region; unexpectedly and undiscerningly.
It's brought out the best in the cosmetics industry, though, as Emma Meredith, Ph.D., director-general of the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Perfumery Association (CTPA), highlights in our latest Cosmetics R&D Vlog entry.
"What's been fantastic is the cosmetics and personal care industry has really stepped up to maximize the production of critical products such as hand sanitizers and soaps and hand washes," said Meredith.

She added, "I think, and I hope, that there will be a lot of learnings that we will take from how we have adapted. That the many collaborations and new ideas and projects that have come out of this time of crisis will be long-lasting and will take companies on a pathway that perhaps they hadn't thought of in the past."
