Quintis Sandalwood has created a commercial skin care range based on Indian sandalwood (INCI: Santalum album) as the active ingredient. The brand, About Time We Met, is described as a science-led, gender-neutral range with nine ingredients using Indian sandalwood oil and powder.
Products include a skin oil, repair serum, radiance serum, restorative night cream, day cream, foaming cleanser, refreshing mist, cream cleanser and an AHA clay mask. Inclusion levels of the oil range from from 0.2% to 5.0%. According to Quintis Sandalwood, studies have shown that the benefits of the ingredient start at 0.1%, with efficacy improving as inclusion levels increase.

Data has shown the ingredient imparts effective antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-tyrosinase and antimicrobial properties. Consumer studies were also conducted on two products – the Naturally Brilliant Oil containing 5% sandalwood oil and the Repair Serum containing 1% sandalwood oil.
According to the company, after two weeks of using the oil, 100% of participants noticed an improvement in the overall appearance and condition of their skin. More specifically, 81% noticed a reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and 79% reported feeling more calm after using the product.
For the Repair Serum, 100% of participants noticed their skin felt soothed and less irritated after one week of use. Also, 92% of participants noticed a reduction in the appearance of breakouts after four weeks of use, according to Quintis Sandalwood.

Ligovich continues: “Each of the products are 98-100% natural, dermatologically tested and hypoallergenic. The range is PETA certified cruelty free and vegan and we use FSC-certified and post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic packaging."
The products retail between A $45 (~US $30) and $115 (~US $77).
