Barentz, a life science ingredients distributor, announced its acquisition of Viachem, a specialty distributor of life science ingredients and specialty chemicals.

The arrangement will support the formulation and release of new product lines, improve existing product lines, drive the development of qualified customers and identify new market opportunities.
The Barentz team will continue to be led by Mike Efting, the president and founder of Viachem.
