Plastic for AwyOcean packaging is collected from five zones by local communities, non-governmental institutions and public authorities. A global network of recyclers does the sorting and processing. Each batch is then certified by third-party labs validating its origin, with optional further validations available. AwyOcean is currently available as PP, HDPE and PET and can be processed into existing and new conventional injection molds.
Eric Bigotte, senior sales manager for France and Southern Europe at Awantys, said, “AwyOcean is another product by Awantys which supports our customers in living up to their sustainability agendas—with regard to new product developments or to optimizing existing packaging items.”
Carsten Wolansky, managing partner of Awantys Group, said, “We are convinced that AwyOcean as a sustainable differentiator at the POS provides a true added value to our clients. Its contribution to sustainability is threefold: Firstly, recycled plastics emit less greenhouse gas emissions than its virgin counterparts. Secondly, AwyOcean tackles the growing problem of maritime plastic pollution. Lastly, being recyclable in existing waste streams, AwyOcean supports the circular economy approach.”
