Annie Jackson Takes Lead of Credo for Conscious Beauty Retailer's Next Phase

“I feel honored to carry on our mission of pushing the overall industry in a more positive direction and creating a space for products that are better for you and the environment,” said Jackson. “Responsible beauty creation is no longer a nice-to-have but table stakes for brands and we will continue to position Credo as a catalyst for change in a highly under-regulated industry.”

Credo has appointed co-founder Annie Jackson as CEO, succeeding Stuart Millar, who had been with the company since early 2022 and has left the company to pursue another opportunity.

In her new role, Jackson will shepherd the company to a new phase, including further retail expansion and growth of its in-house brands, including Exa, Follain, and EleVen by Venus Williams.

Jackson co-founded Credo in 2015, focusing on cleaner, more sustainable products, and has since seen the retailer expand to 15 stores, including newly opened doors in Venice Beach, California, and Seattle. The retailer also recently refreshed its ecommerce site.

Credo has also recently brought on key executives, including Boma Brown-West as vice president of sustainability impact, Rie Maiden as vice president of marketing and e-commerce, and Derek Browe as chief financial officer.

“Annie’s tremendous passion, people-first leadership style, and deep industry experience uniquely position her to lead Credo into its next phase of growth,” said Tiffany Obenchain, managing partner of NextWorld Evergreen, the consumer growth equity fund that backs Credo. “Credo has significantly invested in its management team over the last six months, and we are excited to see this new team, under Annie’s leadership, fulfill Credo’s mission in new and meaningful ways.”
