BASF has developed Retinol 50 (INCI: Retinol (and) Polysorbate-20), an active containing high loads of ~50% retinol without BHA or BHT. According to the company, BHA and BHT are considered ingredients of concern by some consumers and have been included on clean beauty lists such as Clean at Sephora and Conscious Beauty at Ulta Beauty. This ingredient will enable brands to comply with these clean beauty lists.
