Nature is full of ideas for personal care applications. Here, coral's ability to withstand sun exposure inspired a cosmetic ingredient.
"We are proposing a new ingredient that is an amino acid-like active [inspired] by the marine environment," explained Marc Pissavini, Ph.D., of Coty-Lancaster. "We synthesized the compound but it is exactly the [same as what] you find in coral."
