The ingredients offered by Naternal aligns with a biodegradable by-design approach, which aims at integrating end-of-life management at the early stages of research.
Additionally, in support of Solvay’s renewable materials and biotechnology growth platform, the company is investing in a multipurpose microbiology laboratory. This will house biodegradation, human and environmental toxicity screening tools that will enable a safe and a sustainable by design innovation process.
Galder Cristobal, research and innovation director, home and personal care, Solvay, commented: “The beauty industry is at the beginning of a green chemistry transformation with biodegradability standing as one of the most pressing challenges to tackle."
