At CASCC Suppliers’ Day, Praan Naturals has presented its most recent natural launches such as organic virgin amaranth oil, organic virgin camelina oil and Yangu oil.
Organic Virgin Camelina Oil
Praan Naturals’ organic virgin camelina oil (INCI: Camelina Sativa (Camelina) Seed Oil) is cold-pressed from the seeds of the species Camelina sativa, a member of the Brassicaceae (Mustard) plant family.
The organic virgin camelina oil is a primarily polyunsaturated oil that comprises approximately 30-40% alpha-linolenic acid.
The oil protects, soothes and supports reportedly all skin types including mature, damaged and problematic skin as it supports skin elasticity and minimizes the appearance of fine lines. Additionally, it provides a protective coating for hair follicles and is beneficial to the hair and scalp when added to hair care formulations.
The oil is well suited for skin care, hair care, nail care, cosmetics and aromatherapy uses.
Yangu Oil
Yangu oil (INCI: Calodendrum Capense Seed Oil) is also known as Cape Chestnut Oil. Traditionally, the oil has been widely used in African skin care due to its skin and wellness benefits.
The Yangu oil is characterized as a light yet protective oil that is well suited for use in a wide range of personal care applications. It contains approximately 26% linoleic acid, an omega-6 essential polyunsaturated fatty acid; 48% monounsaturated fatty acids; and 24% saturated fatty acids.
Yangu oil is a light oil that absorbs rapidly into dry skin. It is a primarily monounsaturated oil that moisturizes, soothes and protects the skin, leaving it to appear more youthful. It is suited for all skin types including sensitive, dry, itchy, mature and problematic skin. Within scalp and hair care applications, the oil helps to condition the scalp and restore vitality to the hair.

Organic Virgin Amaranth Oil
As previously reported, Praan Naturals’ organic virgin amaranth oil (INCI: Amaranthus Hypochondriacus (Amaranth) Seed Oil) comprises primarily of linoleic acid. It also is a source of squalene and vitamin E (tocopherols and tocotrienols).
Within hair care applications, organic virgin amaranth oil can condition and protect the hair and scalp. Other applications include aromatherapy, nail care and color cosmetics.
