Olehenriksen has reformulated its best-selling vitamin C eye cream with the release of the upgraded Banana Bright+ Eye Crème. It is designed to deliver even better results than the original product, thanks to a trio of vitamin C ingredients.
The Banana Bright+ Eye Crème takes advantage of new advances in vitamin C technology that were not available when the original Banana Bright Eye Crème burst onto the scene in 2017, per the brand. The new vegan and fragrance-free formula features three forms of vitamin C that work together to brighten, visibly reduce dark circles and boost elasticity while defending the skin against pollution:
- Gold-complexed vitamin C: ascorbic acid (pure vitamin C) and super-antioxidant glutathione combined with gold to create a highly stable, water-soluble complex that improves delivery of vitamin C to the skin’s surface layer
- 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid: a water-soluble vitamin C derivative with superior stability and antioxidant capacity
- Tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate: a stable, oil-soluble form of vitamin C that pairs well with other types of vitamin C
The Banana Bright+ Eye Crème also includes bioflavonoids. Extracted from fruits like grapefruit and mandarin, these citrus compounds defend against harmful free radicals.
In addition, the formula contains banana powder, light-reflecting pigments that instantly illuminate the skin.
Olehenriksen conducted an eight-week clinical study on 38 people who used the Banana Bright+ Eye Crème. According to the study, participants experienced 29% more brightness under the eyes, a 40% reduction in crow’s feet and 27% smoother skin. The study also found that the eye cream improves and extends makeup wear.
