Lessonia launched three new ingredients under its Aqualgae range. These three ingredients are sourced from bodies of water around the world, particularly the Atlantic Ocean, North Atlantic Ocean and North Sea.
Each algal biological water is obtained by the gentle evaporation and condensation processing of fresh algae, which is collected as a by-product and harvested by hand on the shores of the respective body of water. These ingredients offer a new solution to replace the water content in cosmetic formulations, in turn helping to increase the total organic content.
Aqualgae Laminaria (INCI: Laminaria Digitata Extract(and) Potassium Sorbate (and) Sodium Benzoate (and) Citric Acid) comes from the Atlantic Ocean and is known for its moisturizing and revitalizing benefits. This ingredient is used for anti-aging cosmetic products and is ideal for sensitive skin.
Aqualgae Palmaria (INCI: Palmaria Palmata Extract (and) Potassium Sorbate (and) Sodium Benzoate (and) Citric Acid) comes from a mixture of the North Atlantic Ocean and the North Sea, and is known for its draining and rejuvenating actions. This ingredient is ideal for slimming cosmetic products.
Finally, Aqualgae Himanthalia (INCI: Himanthalia Elongata Extract (and) Potassium Sorbate (and) Sodium Benzoate (and) Citric Acid) is a brown alga that lives in the shallow waters of the North Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean. It is known for restoring skin’s balance.
All three of these ingredients are colorless, limpid liquids and have a mild odor. They have an approximate shelf life of two years and are 99.1% organic, according to the COSMOS standard.
