With the introduction of its new Virtual Shade Selector tool with Modiface, Garnier intends to provide shoppers with their best hair color match through "a realistic hair color application, creating a bespoke and convenient pre-shopping experience."
The tool was initially launched for use on a smartphone or computer, but will now be available at mass retail locations, including Walmart, Wakefern, Meijer and Walgreens. The at-shelf version of Shade Selector will allow shoppers to select a specific hair color and virtually test the color before leaving the store. Shoppers can test all permanent Garnier Hair Color options, including Nutrisse, Olia and Color Sensation.
How it Works
- Shoppers will be prompted to take the tool's one-minute diagnostic test and try on a variety of recommended Garnier shades.
- Shade Selector reportedly analyzes the user's current hair color, level of gray and desired end look.
- The tool has incorporated a bar code scanning option, which will allow users to engage with all Garnier shades available at shelf.
The Virtual Shade Selector with Modiface technology launches at 37 locations at select retailers in 2019.
